A Laois Offaly TD has called on the Government to widen the eligibility criteria by which people with disabilities can obtain primary medical certs, following the harrowing case of one her constituents who had to have his left hand and most of his left arm amputated.
In this episode Richard talks to Martyn Moran, Martyn lost his left leg following a terrible accident on the family farm when he was just 2 years 8 months old.
Now in his 70’s Martyn describes himself as an outgoing person and says he has a positive approach to life despite his difficulties.
He says he has had a good life despite all the suffering.

A man who lost his arm in a motorbike accident has been told he does not qualify for the Disabled Drivers Scheme.
38-year-old David Digan from Moate in County Westmeath was lucky to survive a motorcycle crash in May 2019 and has since had to abandon his career as a commercial diver.
