There was media coverage recently about the resignation of several members of the Disabled Drivers Medical Board of Appeal (DDMBA) https://bit.ly/3GxPjxX. In case there is any confusion, there is no connection between the Board of Appeal and the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland (DDAI), which is an entirely separate entity.
The Board of Appeal is a statutory independent body set up by the Department of Finance in 1990 to review individuals whose application for the Primary Medical Certificate was unsuccessful at local HSE level - https://bit.ly/3HXsweS.
